Choices Atlanta in the Big Apple!
On Friday June 4, 2010, Choices Atlanta made its debut in New York City, giving a presentation on Temperaments and Communication Skills for the Deloitte Women’s Initiative (WIN). After hearing rave reviews from their Atlanta counterparts on the presentation given there in (October 2009), the New York office requested it. Brenda Tollett, Choices Atlanta President, and Anne-Marie D ardis, founding member of Choices Atlanta, traveled to New York for the event.
About 50 co-workers were in attendance – men as well as women – and listened as Anne-Marie talked about the communication methods and pitfalls of cholerics, sanguine, melancholics and phlegmatics. “Familiarity with the temperaments helps understand why we – and others – act and react the way we do, which obviously facilitates working and communicating with them,” she explained. The participants were able to take a brief test to get to know their own temperamental inclinations, and many requested copies of the presentation and test for those close to them to take as well.
We would like to thank Deloitte for inviting Choices Atlanta to New York for the Communication Skills workshop. We look forward to presenting future workshops to their Women’s Initiative’s group.
